THE LOCATION
You know how when you set your soul on something, the universe starts pulling things into alignment? Well, fortunately we had those sparkly eyed, rose coloured glasses on when we inspected 7-10, 18 Coldstream Street, Yamba.
‘Cause this is how it looked when we got the keys (actually no it was way worse, these pictures are from after the carpets were ripped up and half the rabbit-warren office petitions were pulled out!). It was awful, more like a dilapidated zoo, but the dream was bigger than the task that lay ahead,
and even though we didn’t really have any idea what we were doing, like a north star overhead, the vision was strong enough to guide us.
We turned to our childhood mates, builder Hughie Towner, electrician Lee Everett, and designer John Howland, to begin working on a plan for the demolition and how we would ultimately get the finished space to flow.
Time to get to work.
